National Council

The election of national council members is conducted during Sigma Kappa's biennial conventions. The nominating committee seeks your help in canvassing the membership to find qualified candidates. Every member of Sigma Kappa has the obligation and privilege to nominate qualified members to serve on national council.

All candidates for elective office must meet the qualifications set forth in the Constitution and Bylaws. Each nominee shall have served as a national officer for two years, have the time to devote 40 or more hours a week to her position, and be a life member with all dues paid in full. She must have the leadership and commitment to fulfill her responsibility to work for the good of the Sorority and the future of our sisterhood.

A member of the national council may serve a maximum of only two consecutive terms in any one office. Present members of national council must be nominated to be considered for positions.

There is no limit to the number of Sigma Kappas a member may nominate. Instructions will be included with the form.
