Margaret Chase Smith, Alpha, was the
first U.S. woman
senator, first woman to sit in both houses of Congress, recipient of
the U.S. Air Force's most prestigious award, among others. She has been
presented with 96 honorary degrees and presented with a Presidential
Medal of Freedom Award by
President George Bush in 1989. |

Sarah Weddington, Zeta Nu, is an attorney and
spokesperson on public issues and leadership. In 1972 she became the
first woman elected from Austin to be a member of the Texas House of
Representatives. Sarah served three terms as a representative before
becoming assistant to President Jimmy Carter. Sarah is well-known for
her work on issues affecting women in her role as an attorney, as a
legislator, as a professor and as an expert called upon by the national
media. Her first book, A Question of Choice, detailed the Roe v. Wade case which she argued before the U.S. Supreme Court and won in 1973. |

Susan Eisenhower, Epsilon Epsilon, became an honor
initiate in 2006 with the Epsilon Epsilon chapter. Susan is the
president of the Eisenhower Group, Inc. and the granddaughter of former
United States President Dwight Eisenhower. She has consulted for
Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies, is the chairman of Leadership
and Public Policy Programs, and Chairman Emeritus of the Eisenhower
Institute. Susan is also the author of three books and has been
involved in the editing of four others. She has and is leading a life
of great leadership and political awareness. |

Virgie Hyman Cone, Omega,
was the first woman principal of a high school in Duval County Florida.
She retired in 1975 and was quoted in the Sigma Kappa Triangle claiming
a phobia about "staying too long and outliving my usefulness." Soon
after she retired she became the province officer for Sigma Kappa's
Omega, Beta Tau collegiate chapters and for the Florida Alumnae
chapters along with being "on call" for other duties in the south.
Prior to her retirement she had already served as the national
scholarship chairman for a number of years and had been a member of the
national expansion committee. Her civic involvement included being the
Executive Director for an agency on aging and lobbyed for issues
pertaining to the elderly. She also served as Director of the North
Florida Mental Health Association and authored two books. |
