Sigma Kappa Sorority

Potential Members

We Love SKThe most common process to become a member of Sigma Kappa is to participate in formal recruitment on your campus, the process formerly known as rush. Locate a Sigma Kappa chapter near you. Once you have located the chapter or university of your interest, the next step is to determine their formal recruitment dates.

Sigma Kappa is a member of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC); therefore, Sigma Kappa recruits new members under NPC guidelines. For more information on their guidelines visit the NPC Web site.

Continuous Open Bidding

Sigma Kappa and other NPC groups offer an alternate recruitment process for potential members called continuous open bidding (COB). If a chapter experiences vacancies in its membership total at the end of formal recruitment, then the chapter is eligible for the COB process. COB usually occurs in the weeks following formal recruitment or in the semester in which formal recruitment is not held.

During the COB process, you can get to know Sigma Kappas in an informal setting such as attending a campus sporting event, going over to the chapter house or out for dinner, watching a movie, or participating in a philanthropy event. For more information about Sigma Kappa COB opportunities near you, contact your local Sigma Kappa chapter, Panhellenic Council, or student affairs office.
